Roddenberry Adventures Option 3B [CU9842]

Summary

Roddenberry Adventures Option 3B [CU9842] 16 Days / 14 Nights - Australia

Cairns city is home to many unique attractions and activities to experience when you visit. Enjoy a cruise and snorkel or dive in the Great Barrier Reef, which is listed by the World Heritage Society and also acclaimed as one of the world's most wonderful assets or take a safari to the outback. You may want to trek into the Kuranda, or one of the other Wet Tropical Rainforests or view the green canopies from the cableway above. These year round natural attractions are truly memorable and inspiring.

The Spirit of Freedom is located off of Australia's north eastern town of tropical Cairns. Cairns is Australia's gateway for two of the world's greatest diving icons, the Great Barrier Reef and the Coral Sea. The Great Barrier Reef is a broad chain of 2,900 individual reefs and is the Earth's largest structure built by living organisms, being clearly visible from space. It is an ecosystem of unsurpassed marine diversity and presents the diver with a vision of exquisite natural beauty. Beyond the continental shelf that harbours the Great Barrier Reef, lie the isolated reef systems and crystal clear waters of Australia's Coral Sea. This is home territory for huge schools of pelagic fish and sharks in an undersea world of mountains, pinnacles and sheer walls laced with gorgonian fans and rising from thousands of feet below. The live-aboard dive vessel 7 Day Trip departs Cairns 7:00am Monday and returns 8:00am the following Monday.

Port Douglas is the winning combination of a cosmopolitan township and a friendly village. It has world class resorts and shopping, award winning restaurants and superb galleries and craft stores. With pristine wilderness, total tranquility, superb golf courses and a wealth of activities including the magnificent underwater world of the Great Barrier Reef, this is a magnetic destination for travelers of all ages and all walks of life.

Undara is located in bushland south-west of Cairns and is home to one of the wonders of Australia, the Undara Lava Tubes. The Undara Lava Tubes, were formed roughly 190,000 years ago when the volcano spilled out over the land and travelled along a river bed, are reputedly the largest lava tubes in the world. The water in the river allowed the lava to form a vast cylindrical tunnel, a process that is believed to have taken two to three weeks. Should you feel adventurous, take the long scenic walk over to the Undara Crater, where you can gaze at the vast size of the volcanic ridge which measures 340 metres across and 48 metres deep, with steep inner slopes.

Sydney is Australia's oldest city and the economic powerhouse of the nation and the country's capital in everything but name. Enjoy the sights of Sydney, a world class city blessed with sun-drenched natural attractions, dizzy skyscrapers, delicious and daring restaurants, superb shopping and friendly folk. You can choose to experience the beauty of the Harbour, the Opera House and marvel at the expansive Sydney Harbour Bridge. Take advantage of the many tour options or just relax and go at your own pace as you enjoy the excellent restaurants and entertainment that only Sydney can offer.

From Calmsley Hill you will continue to ascend the Blue Mountains via the highway. Visit one of a range of stunning outlooks of the Jamison Valley seeing beautiful vistas. Where possible this will be away from the crowds of tours that visit the mountains each day with other operators, thus you will have the opportunity to enjoy a stress and hurry free environment taking in the views and information imparted by your guide.

Continuing on you will arrive at Eaglehawk Lookout, a remote lookout points away from the crowds for views of the famous 3 Sisters. Whilst the Blue Mountains features so much more than this natural attraction you can't help but admire the unquestionable beauty of this amazing rock formation. The character of the Three Sisters changes throughout the day and throughout the seasons as the sunlight brings out the magnificent colors. Here your guide will discuss the legends behind this famous rock formation and time available for you to take some great photos.

Next you will be taken around the mountain towards the village of Blackheath and our lunch venue the Boiler House Cafe. Here in this relaxed venue with stunning views, you can enjoy a 2-course lunch with tea or coffee. All diets are catered for (excluding Kosher Meals). Please note that beverages can be purchased at your own expense from the Bar.

The afternoon is spent visiting a selection of lookouts. Once you clap your eyes on the view from Govetts Leap you'll know why it's one of the most famous lookouts in Australia. The magnificent waterfall drops a whopping 180m to the base of the cliff. If you're not mesmerized by the dancing waves of water spray, you'll be transfixed by the sweeping views down the valley to the Grose Wilderness.

Then take a brief stop to enjoy a glass of sparkling wine or orange juice at the delightful Mt Tomah Botanic Gardens, where you can enjoy the sweeping views across to Sydney before traveling down the Bells Line of Road to arrive back at your hotel approximately 4:30pm.
